- I have two copies of this album one of them was my dads what’s crazy and I can’t seem to find it here is that the album that was my dads has side 2 labels on both sides of the record I guess they messed up when they pressed the record would a mistake like that add any value to the record ?
- Edited 12 years agoI really don't understand the sneering, snobby sense of negativity that seems to be associated with this group among stuck-up, jaded and generally bitter a-holes (especially considering I always thought I was your king). After all, it's just Pop music... GOOD Pop music, even!
It may be a bit "light" and "syrupy" at times (whatever, I've cried through many a lonely, drunken Herman's Hermits listening session, what with all the songs of unrequited love and longing, haha!), but it makes no claims to the contrary either...
And, sure, "Henry" becomes utterly obnoxious after just a couple of listens, but that's the only real stinker on the LP as far as I'm concerned. The rest is pure 60's Pop B-L-I-S-S! What it may lack in "SOUL" and poetry, it manages to make up for entirely in exquisite, emotive, tuneful Pop melodies.
In short: F**k the haters, Herman's Hermits rules!
