I have the original pressing of this and have to say it is better quality than this repress IMO. The sound on the original is more balanced where as this repress has a lot of emphasis on the top end. The percussion sounds almost distorted - someone else has also commented on this but I played both the records together as the repress didn’t sound quite right.

It’s a weighty slab and feels nice and is also a bit louder than the original. But I don’t like what they’ve done to the top end. Played it a couple of times on my 1210s and cut between this and the original and the difference is clear (and yes I swapped them round so it ain’t my needles!).

The knuckles mix is a nice twist which is why I bought this. But if you want the classic mix then buy the original pressing.

It's interesting to read reviews regarding users personal 'remix' favourite(s). But whilst most persons will regard the Def Mix (Knuckles & Morales classic mix) as the most played and probably liked of all the mixes, what you'll find in sale values is a heavy nod of 'sought after' for the 'Cut to the bone' mix. I've collected soul/dance music since the late 70s and whilst I, liked many others, lean in favour of the Def Classic mix, it is without a doubt the 'Cut to the bone' mix that is the collectors choice? I agree with the John below, but the one I reach for here is actually the "Red Zone Mix." As a DJ who tends to lean into the more synth-pop and electro side of things, I think this mix has that sort of flair -- stripped back, with a cool-down / winding-down-the-night vibe, functioning as a bit of a dub. Really dig it! Not huge on the rest of this release, don't think the other remixes have aged great in comparison.

This is a good disc, very punchy and sure to give any system a good workout. Vocals do get buried in the mix, but still enjoyable.

Very stable and flat record.

The Sauna Mix is the best and most-underrated mixes of this classis soulful house mix. It is more uplifting than the Knuckles/Morales mixes because it doesn't cut out any of the instruments but instead combines them to devastating effect.
