- Does anyone have this Red pressing to report on if it sound any better than the black repress from a year later?
I'm guessing same master and stampers? referencing Empros (LP, Album) SH067
I have the re-press of this on black vinyl. Lots of pops and bangs on side A, and a little lack luster in terms of the dynamics and lackinga a bit of warmth and clarity. The B side is much clearer, but stil a little 'static'. A really great album, but much like Memorial not the most fantastic of pressings.referencing Empros (LP, Album, Repress) SH067
Very disappointed in this issue (or at least my sealed copy) My copy came with significant wear from the pressing plant including a deep scratch over the label on side A that extends into the last 1-1.5 mins of Schipol. The sound of side A is ugly. Very compressed and quiet, NO dynamic range, no punch....the climax is perhaps when Schipol gets heavy....on CD the song breaths and the drums are so so heavy, you can hear the limiting amplifiers working (pumping and breathing). Not on this vinyl. Just mud. The opening track of side B is a little better, but there is much less going on musically. This is a far cry from my double 45rpm copy of Geneva, which is amazing.referencing Empros (LP, Album) SH067
This has been repressed on black and can be identified by additional information in the runouts. It's probable that many copies on sale here are actually the repress.
