Wonderful warmth from the vinyl that is missing from the CD - very interesting to hear the instrumental version of Replicas from Gary Numan - highly recommended.referencing Replicas Rubato (CD, ) MPCD71
All reviews I could find on Replicas Rubato stated that it was not much good so my expectations were pretty frosted when I gave this one a spin … surprise! This is a solo piano play bringing the man’s personal piano interpretations of Gary Numan titles and I can’t find anything bad at all here. Sure, he has done it before with Kraftwerk and sure it’s only pianoplay and nothing more, but what’s wrong with that? The composition sounds fresh, sparkling, never cheesy and unpretentious all the way. Does it belong in an electronica database? If Eno does, why not.
