Don’t get me wrong, I love this album. BUT, I respectfully disagree and say that any of Peter’s work with Bauhaus and Dali’s Car is superior to this. An amazing album, but I feel like it lacks a lot of Murphy’s uniqueness.referencing Deep (CD, Album, Reissue, Repress) BBL 107 CD
Outstanding album. Listened a lot when it came out in 89-90. What's great is there are a few catchy tunes. Then a few that take a while to appreciate (maye I'm just dumb) then the last two tracks are versions of "Roll Call." At first I thought they were too weird and I skipped over them. After a bit those became my favorite tracks (now I'm weird). In short, this great album has a time-release factor.referencing Deep (LP, Album) SPV 065-30091
Agree with the other feedback--this pressing is stellar in sound quality.referencing Deep (LP, Album) SPV 065-30091
If you want an original copy from 90', look no further. This German release is absolute audiophile qualityreferencing Deep (LP, Album, Glossy Sleeve) 9877-1-H
I agree fully with bibshorts1972 about this being superior to any Bauhaus. I just listed to Bauhaus 1979-1983 Volume One on Beggars Banquet, and yes, it was def of a time and place. I remember Bauhaus almost defining the (inappropriately named) Goth Rock era so we must remember that. But as far as songs and overall delivery by Mr. Murphy, this far outshines anything Bauhaus did.- sounds very good for a reissue good sound stage and separation , im sure a uk 1st press sounds better but im happy with this

One of the most underrated albums of the 80s alternative cannon. Everyone raves about Bauhaus, in my humble opinion this LP is vastly superior to any work he did with that band as a full length. Deep runs as if it is a stand-alone greatest hits LP. All killer, no filler …great vinyl mastering. One of the defining albums of high school bibshorts.referencing Deep (CD, Album) 838 997-2
A great album that holds up quite well. Some of Murphy's best songwriting. A clean, crisp, resonant recording.- Edited one year ago

My copy of this is translucent brown vinyl. Runouts match. It also came with incorrect hype sticker on it for Lisa Stansfield's debut album. I find this pressing very bass heavy. I also own the German release which I feel is more balanced and not overly-bassy. referencing Deep (LP, Album) BEGA 107
Adventurous & engaging theatrical goth-like musical tapestry of sound featuring PM’s rich & full (& somewhat dark) Bowie-esque crooning slightly mired by 80’s technocratic electro-rock production trends.
Enjoy for the emotional intensity in PM’s delivery & the abstract poetry of his lyrics.
