- Edited 5 months agoOne of the best examples of the indie rave dance scene and one of the first, predating Primal Scream’s Loaded.
With the passage of time It’s hard now to hear just how different this record would have sounded at the time.
Before this there was very little crossover between the concert venue and the club and the rise of the remix producer was truly underway.
Before the remix boom Happy Monday’s, Primal Scream and The Stone Roses etc sounded very average to these ears. A certain drug changed music for ever. - Where are the mix names here? Surely they have some for example Rave on is Rave on (Club Mix) and also named on Bummed 2007 as Kilamanjaro. There's two mixes of this don't think i knew this until now maybe i did. Big fan saw them at Wembley Arena 1990 and many times since bought the Madchester Rave on T shirt from Virgin in 1989. One version is 5:39 the other 6:17 i'm gonna to keep on searching all releases and update if i can using Discogs and iTunes and renaming the mixes there
- Edited 6 years ago"Hallelujah" - Club mix is an absolute monster of a tune.
A huge Indie - Dance crossover track.
From the moment the track kicks in you know you are in for something special and it doesn't disappoint, with its driving piano, vocals and strings / pads that just seem to lift the track even higher, then dropping into main vocal section and building right back up again bringing in new elements. Amazing track. - Edited 7 years agoOakenfold and Farley rave on club mix is the track that turned many indie kids onto the dance scene at this time.. from my own personal account living around Manchester in this era...over looked but is a massive track..indie/rave was born..
