Only the greek release has the complete remix collection. I would not even pay 1 Euro for a greek CD of 1999 pressed by DPH as nowadays an unknown amount of them are not playable due to chemical processes on the surface. The 4x12" promo is available in incomplete sets at various marketplace sellers and is not as complete as the greek cd-single. The UK cd-single is spread in 3 parts which have the same remixes in long and super long versions. The other cd-singles are incomplete and the german 12" is the most useless release. The great (Rollo & Sister Bliss) Radio Mix is nowhere available as extended version. Only the italian 12" seems to be a so la la good choice. WHAT A TYPICAL END 90s MESS! - Edited 18 years ago
referencing Why Go? (CD, Maxi-Single) D1979
Faithless is a project done by producers Rollo (Roland Armstrong) and Sister Bliss (Ayalah Bentovim) together with songwriter / rapper Maxi Jazz (Maxwell Frazer). They had big hits such as ‘Salva Mea (Save Me)’, ‘God Is A DJ’, ‘We Come 1’ and of course everybody knows their monster hit ‘Insomnia’. In 1999 Rollo and Sister Bliss teamed up with singer Boy George (real name: George O'Dowd) who was the leadsinger of the ‘Culture Club’. This British art-pop band was very popular in the 80’s and they have made some nice reggae influenced pop tracks such as ‘Do You Really Want To Hurt Me’, ‘Church Of The Poisoned Mind’ and ‘Karma Chameleon’. They split in 1986 and reformed in 1998.
The collaboration between Faithless and Boy George was not without success: The track ‘Why Go?’ came out on the Faithless album ‘Sunday 8PM’ and was released as a separate single as well. Boy George not only wrote the track together with Faithless, but he also did the vocals of the track. Ferry Corsten, Lange, Fused Why Stay and Faithless themselves made remixes of the track, which became a huge hit in the (dance)charts.
Ferry made a very nice and uplifting remix of the track. It starts with some mysterious sounds and after that the vocals of Boy George come in. After the intro part we'll hear a nice bassline and some melodic sounds. After the build up the track gets really melodic and energetic. The Ferry Corsten remix works for sure on the dancefloor!
In 2005 ‘Why Go?’ was re-released with new vocals done by a female singer called Estelle. There were also some new remixes made by people such as the Hoxton Whores and Redanka.
