Hooters* – One Way Home

I don't know of any other album where the track list almost perfectly corresponds to how much I like each song. "Satellite" and "Karla With A K" are gems, "Johnny B" and "Graveyard Waltz" are also quite good, and side two starts out strong with "Fightin' On The Same Side". But the last four songs on this album are all kinda meh, at least to my ears, with "Hard Rockin' Summer" sounding like the fulfillment of a request from the record label to "play something new-wavy". This pressing sounds perfectly fine, but the production is a bit heavy-handed at times, leading to a somewhat cluttered and claustrophobic soundstage. My copy plays like new, nice and clean, with zero surface noise.

Track sequence on the back of this one is completely wrong - never understood why some albums have that. Not really much of a minus - the album itself is great - just confuses me when I see stuff like that.

I don’t know if this is the first pressing, but this copy to my ears sounds really average, nothing spectacular.
