This is right up there with Blue Monday as one of the best 12" singles ever made IMO, an epic 13 min track which sounds fantastic on vinyl, a hazy soundtrack of my youth and drug fuelled nights out (Don't judge me, we all did it back then). Highly recommend this pressing.- Edited 3 months ago

I think this is the only way gto get the track "enough's enough " , never seen it on any other release. - Edited 4 years agoThe other review here got me inspired to write up a more accurate, and less flippant, review of some of the greatest remixes of all time. What Weatherall does with "Weekender" is take every single element to an already massive song, and transform every little bit and piece conceivable. The result is one of the most awesome, chaotic, and inspired journeys to ever take a remix form. The original version is 13 minutes, and Weatherall no doubt felt he had to ramp up the statements with two mixes that outdo a sound that is already about as huge as you can get. Over the course of these two mixes, he not only produces two mammoth trips into house, techno, hip hop, and ambient, but he also somehow extends and fattens the creativity and ingenuity of any other remix before or since. It's easy to look back over 25 years later and make glib comments like "it's too long" or whatever, but these remixes changed the landscape at the time, and somehow manage to still sound fresh. Ignore at your peril, peeps, because these Flowered Up remixes are the greatest output from the greatest remixer of all time.
- Edited 4 years agoFairly standard instrumental bash through Weatherall's output from that time. Too long on both sides despite the tempo change midway through. Nowhere near as good as Weatherall's other remix work from that time, such as remix of St. Etienne's cover of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", a remix also in two halves.

"Where the Fuck is "Weekender"????
I bought this record a year ago, and finally got to play it....SO VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
There is 2 tracks with a duration of over 30 mins...But NO Weekender!!
I was convinced that the music from that great video would be on this record...But its NOT!!
This "joke" of a record sounds nothing like the Video of Weekender!(How did they get away with this!)
I also think it was a disrespect to the band that this boring unrelated record was released;-(
I would appreciate if somebody could tell me where the REAL Weekender can be found on 12"!!
