"We Move" on the 7" single is the original version that still bides its time to appear on CD - while the 1983 remix is on almost all of the Visage compilation. Perhaps the original dance mix = extended/full version is some kind of substitute... Anyway, one of the best Visage songs that could enhance the debut album considerably (it'd fit like a glove in place of "Tar"). Instead a reason to buy that 7" :o)
Dance mix of "Frequency 7" is on most of the Visage CD compilations - and, strangely, on all of them is has a cut-off last handclap! This error (it IS an error, right?) is present even on the US EP from 1981, so must be intentional? But there's a UK compilation "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life", released in 2000, that features a complete version, with that last handclap fully intact! What's the deal? Confusing and bothers me no end... By the way, segues nicely with Soft Cell's remix of "A Man Could Get Lost" (either before or after) - try it, sounds great :o)- Both "Mind Of a Toy" and "We Move" are cool slices of Visage's trademark eccentric post-punk/new romantics pop, but the exclusive 12" track "Frequency 7" is something altogether different; a pumpin' proto-techno instrumental that sounds a bit like Drexciya (at least if Drexciya made music a decade earlier and wore outrageous make-up). Apparently a big favourite in Detroit at the time (1981), this is essential stone age techno.
