The real highlights here are the demos. They sound much better than the heavily compressed master of the album. They are a little bit rougher, but the sound is more 'analog' to my ears, with less compression and lots of bass. The album though deserves a better mastering for vinyl and the oral story is so painfull to read that is useless.

How the hell does the oral history (far from extensive, it’s a single page) get to printing with 95% of the spaces between words taken out? Almost completely a block of text and painful to try and read.

Record 2 in my copy was filthy, dust and hairs all over it fresh out of the sealed shrink wrap.

This is probably the best affordable piece of vinyl currently available of this magnificent masterpiece but i believe it could have been done better. The packaging is superb both by content and quality. Discs are flat and pretty silent. Problems start with the musical content. I see no reason to reissue 92 minutes of music on a 2LP format. The original LP sound is OK but still very compressed due to very long sides (Side B is 24 minutes). No IGD that i've noticed though. It is bumming to hear the sound potential if this had a proper vinyl setting. The bonus material, while being amusing is in pretty horrible quality (as expected from a demo) and to my opinion has no value being present on a vinyl release since after the first listen i'd never wanna hear it again. To my opinion this could have been a stunning release if the original LP was spread on 2 discs and thats it. Verdict - Great packaging, OK sound, not a must if you're not fanatic of this album.

In any case, the pressing is fine flat and pretty quiet. Unfortunately, like many releases lately, it has to be turned way up to achieve the proper effect!

Personally I hate these reprint editions that still cram both sides but shift what songs are the last on side 1 and the first on side 2 (Nirvana's first album is infamous for this, as almost every LP reprint of it has two bonus songs at the end of the album so the first song on side 2 is moved to the last song on side 1).
On this they should've either kept disc 1 the same and made disc 2 ONLY the bonus songs, or split the original album between 4 sides and had the bonus songs as sides 5 and 6. Instead they've shifted everything by one: all of the original album except for the last track and the outro are on the first 2 sides. This is so sides 1 and 2 could be 24 minutes instead of the original 26.5 minutes. How is that an improvement?

Superb reissue, this is the first time I listen to this record on LP so I can't compare with previous editions but it sounds quite organic and dynamic to me. The package is great, the vinyls come in thick printed inner sleeves, they fit Ok in the pockets but if you put the LPs in separated inner sleeves then everything will fit too tight and you will risk warping the vinyls after some time. I used round plastic inner sleeves that I can put inside the original cardboard inner sleeves. The color variation looks great, I see pink, my gf told me it is actually fuchsia, a more vivid variation of pink... I don't see the difference really. Anyway, the thing that will set this reissue apart from other reissues is the bonus tracks, they are quite good and fun to listen, not to mention that they actually sound good (for demo B sides). If you don't own this record then surely go buy this, you won't regret it. If you do own this record but you are curious about the bonus tracks, I would say they make this worth buying again, they are THAT good. Now we just have to wait the reissue of Deliverance delivers the way Blind does.
