- Edited 4 months agoAttention. GZ Repress Misprint is on the Market The Specials - More Specials. Can be recogniced by matrix 254983M1 and M2 in addition to the Optimal-media code BK10778 in the run out. Seems like they sometimes (always?) mixed up Lacquer two with Lacquer two from The Specials - Specials, which they also have repressed. The Labels are correct, so check the matrix before buying, should be 25498M3 and M4 on side C and D. NOT 254982.
See henrizans review and replies. - I had this beautiful cassette once in the 80's and the sound amazed me..
We had French visitors on a swap weekend as we had a lad named, 'Regis' arrive and stay.
He was into Toots And The Maytals and after I lent him More Specials cassette album, he went crazy and was dancing on my bed !
So, I let him keep it and in return he sent my 2 Brothers & i, a Lacoste Polo shirt each ! I still miss that cassette to this day... But don't regret it..
Memories are a wonderful thing ! - Anyone else got a copy of this where sides C and D seem to be from the 2019 half-speed reissue of Specials (The Specials - Specials)? The labels on both sides are right for this release but the music and run-outs aren't. Everything else is correct (ie sides A and B are from this version of More Specials and the 7" is right). If not just me, will add it as a new misprint version.
- I got a flawless copy of this excellent album, my favorite from the Specials. Well WOW! what a sound, it just seems that much fuller and deeper. i was astounded so i put on my original copy and played "International Jet Set" back to back several times and this remaster would defo have the edge on quality of sound. Further testing is required and more news forthcoming ...............................

the sleeve on this release differs from the UK one, it's fully laminated rather than flip-back and has a gap where the pink circle usually is.- Some copies of the FREE 7" are translucent and show to be a Ruby Red colour when held up to the light.
- Edited 2 years agoI don't know what could've possibly happened to this band in just one year but the difference between their fantastic first, timeless self-titled album, and this massive waste of vinyl (which sounds like an '80s Las Vegas airport lounge act doing their most earnest Specials imitation) is so vast they really could've been recorded by two different groups.
Even stranger still is the indisputable fact that just one year after releasing this snoozefest, they released the Ghost Town EP which contains two of the best tracks in their discography; "Ghost Town" (of course), and "Friday Night, Saturday Morning".
The only reasonable explanation is that they were obviously abducted by aliens for that entire year, during which they were likely replaced with clonedroids, which as everybody knows, can only mimic the more superficial human attributes. Talent and skill, not so much, as is quite apparent here in this case.
Voila!
Mystery solved!
I shoulda been a frickin' detective. referencing More Specials (LP, Album, Stereo) CHR 1303
I once had a white label test pressing of the canadian pressing of "More Specials"
