Filter (2) – The Amalgamut

I agree that the vinyl pressing is a huge improvement to the cd. Great album, although I'm desperate to see Anthems for the Damned reissued on vinyl - my absolute favourite. There is surface noise. It's not a quiet pressing. But there are no pressing errors in the form of pops or clicks on my copy. I do wet clean everything before playing to remove soap and factory debris from the pressing plant. And put the vinyl in antistatic sleeves instead of that horrible glossy paper that ruins vinyl! At no point is the surface noise audible through the music, only between tracks when it's supposed to be quiet. So I'm very happy with this pressing!!!

Considering the era this was recorded in, it sounds pretty good. The increase in dynamics from it being vinyl really helps the sound.

Ordered this November of last year, received it March 31st. Side B on my copy had tons of crackling and whooshing throughout. Sent album back for a replacement. Received replacement today and the album gatefold is mangled to hell. Put LP on side B to see if playback was any better. EXACTLY THE SAME! Either they sent me the same LP back in a different jacket as the signature looks slightly different (maybe), or QC was horrible on this album and I’m just unlucky and got 2 bad presses. Cannot recommend!

Quality control is not good visual marks and scratches sound is decent but not great all my other craft recordings are really good this one's not as good never had an issue with all the rest it's more like crap recording

Delighted to have this but hate when they arrive with the sleeves torn from the records. Always wish they took the records out before shipping to avoid slicing through the jacket seam.

Pressing has a little surface noise and sounds a bit compressed, as other reviewers already mentioned.
Also the records have some visible spots in the vinyl, which do not affect the sound, but they don’t look good.

The album is still great. I think I even prefer it to Title Of Record. But nothing beats Short Bus imho.

I like the sound. There's some small amount of surface noise and some sibilance in the vocals (nothing out of the ordinary) but overall it has very nice dynamics and especially the drums are well defined. It sound a lot better than the CD version and I can hear details I missed before. Like another commenter said before, inner groove distortion is well controlled on this pressing and not a problem at all.

So happy to have a copy of this, I was really hoping they would press vinyls of this album and they did!

Not the best pressing from Craft Recordings. A fair amount of surface noise in places and there is distortion in the mid/high end of the EQ. I give it a B-.

Exclusive white vinyl you can pre order on official filter. So, I'd hop on it. Kinda worried since for me Craft botched the last release and it sounds like hot garbage. But the White wax is limited to 500 copies and signed.
