Oh how i love this edition ! I have nr 174 of the 500 pressed . The pressing looks and sounds amazing . Best 25€ ever spend 🙂- To bass heavy and some ticks and pops throughout the record. I have not ultrasonic cleaned it however, but not acceptable at this price point. Will keep my acoustic sound series 33rpm, that to me sounds amazing and try to pass this on to someone.
- Edited 17 days agoTook a stab at comparing the new Impex and old AS33 and these are my findings.
What immediately strikes most when doing an A B shootout will be the increased clarity of the Impex through high frequency focus. Its quite consistent across the whole album and a defining feature of the sound. And I thought the AS33 was a step up in clarity from the Speakers Corner, yikes, what was Kevin thinking there?
If you are not A B comparing as on my first listen one thing that struck me was despite the high frequencies, that theres an ease to the sound, particularly the vocals which makes them sound so effortless. I suppose the slight muddying of the AS33 fills a hole in the middle that truncates the delicateness of the recording and paradoxically makes a warmer sound less pleasant.
That is not to say the Impex lacks bass as its one of the main complaints some have about it, being too bottom heavy. Personally I can agree that some notes are a bit boomy, I also find it less defined in general possibly because its less Stereo separated on the Impex. This might also be why Grundman could bloat the bottom further or it might just be my room that doesnt like those specific frequencies, hard to say.
On the opposite end as mentioned there is a brightness that sometimes also borders on edgy but rarely feels bothersome.
It might seem like Im complaining a lot but the clarity of this version reveals the lacking areas better, such as the tape damages which are more apparent now than ever.
Despite it all I do find this to be the best pressing, it really is a joy to hear even with the untamed bass being the most lacking area.
Also, the Impex is significantly quieter than the AS33 funnily enough so play it loud.
With the excellent vinyl here you can cut quiet without issues of noise but it does indicate you could still get this same sound on 33 which leaves me torn. But probably not with these two additional tracks on side D which are nice indeed.

Revel F35 Tower Speakers - Edited 22 days agoJust listened to it. Great pressing, very quiet, huge realism of tonalities, voices, and stage.
Bass is present, it goes deep down and it has the right level, very well controlled.
To me it is a great artwork, one of my best sounding records ever. - Sounds really good. Any idea when was this released and why country is GERMANY if it isays MADE IN HOLLAND?
- I've got Analogue Production 45 versions and I believe S1ep is obviously even better than that. The vocal is clearer and the stage is more 3D. There's one track that the channel got reversed compared with AP. I recall it's been said that one version is wrong but is AP the wrong version? Pressing wise not totally quiet for super vinyl but ok.
The bonus tracks are amazingly good!
My hardware: Technics 1200GR, AT33Ptg/II, Techinics G700M2, Dali Opticon8 m2 - Unfortunately, I got a noisy pressing with several ticks throughout the record. Poor quality control. The record sounds outstanding otherwise.

I recently found this at a 2nd hand shop during a holiday in South Africa. Wasn't expecting too much of the sound quality, but this turns out to be one of the best sounding albums in my collection! It's really good!
