For me (a non-audiophile) I would say it was one of the poorer reissues I own.
Levels are all over the place and there are passages that pop and don't track well.
Incredible music, of course, but I will probably avoid buying another of these grey-market reissues by Klimt.

Is this still available anywhere for sale? Having a tough time locating a copy!

O indiscreto "PREÇO ECONÔMICO" estampado no canto superior esquerdo e as espessas bordas roxas ao redor da clássica capa branca talvez possam assustar o colecionador reticente a respeito da qualidade dessa reprensagem que saiu pela Polyfar na módica série Fora De Série durante o final dos anos setenta. Mas se aqui não está preservada a sobriedade visual do projeto — contraparte gráfica aos abundantes silêncios do álbum —, o mesmo não pode ser dito sobre o som do vinil, que é maravilhosamente límpido, claro e equilibrado: esconde-se no interior dessa charmosa aberração roxa-branca um disco muito bem prensado, capaz de potencializar o brilhantismo apresentado por João Gilberto, Sonny Carr e Wendy Carlos nessa obra tão sensível e delicada, amiúde minimalista. É uma coisa linda. Aliás, não se enganem: essa é a melhor edição brasileira em LP do álbum. E — vejam só! — também é a edição mais "em conta" no nosso inflacionado mercado de usados. Se procurar certinho, ainda é possível encontrá-la em sebos ou lojas especializadas por 100 reais ou menos. Não é super barato, mas vale a pena. Um bom custo-benefício, ainda mais se considerarmos que as prensagens da Polydor (1973) e Verve (1989), inferiores em termos de som, já atingiram a casa dos 300 reais.

Pode ser que o disco — lembremos: um disco longo, com quase 25 minutos em cada lado — não agrade o audiófilo mais exigente (vai saber?!), mas o audiófilo mais exigente certamente terá condições de arcar com os exigentes preços de alguma exuberante prensagem japonesa disponível neste mesmo site. E pode ser, também, que essa edição econômica não agrade o fã sedento por uma capa instagramável, mas o fã sedento por uma capa instagramável certamente terá meios para procurar alguma cópia de outra prensagem com a linda capa original, branca e imaculada. Eu, que amo roxo e não posso gastar grandes quantias, fico felicíssimo contemplando as bordas na capa deste LP com som acima da média.

Enfim, é um ótimo convite para comemorarmos os cinquenta anos do álbum e para lembrarmos que é possível montar uma coleção bacana sem torrar rios de dinheiro.

Em tempo, a reprensagem estéreo (por essa mesma coleção) de Tempo Feliz, de Baden Powell e Maurício Einhorn, também é excelente.

Every now and then I come across an album that delights me not only because of the music or the personality that comes through the performance but because the person recording and mastering the album has opened my ears in such a way that I hear their perfect pitch way of hearing by the impressive way they have captured and presented the audio on vinyl. This album is one such find. Yes the mastery of Joāo Gilberto is the source but it’s the expert talent of Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind-Tourre that creates the space to experience the overall feel of this album by providing the breath of life and heighten awareness to the unique record though a carefully placed microphone and a humble volume setting.

Would some savvy label out there please repress this aural gold for the people?

Any ideas if this release has been mastered from digital or analogique tape ?

How does this compare with the 2010 Klimt issue? Thanks!

Great release, as others have noted. Bootleg or not, this gets one of Gilberto's essential albums in the hands of avid listeners. Considering the endless legal battle over his recordings, it will be hard to see an official repress of any of his albums, so get this while you can!

Bootlegged source or not my pressing is quite flawless... perfectly flat, centered and clean... if only it was always this way. The music aint bad either

Great album, this version sounds incredible! The voice of Gilberto really feels like he's in the room performing. This sounds much better than the re-released version on sale nowadays. Nothing beats the analogue sound of the original.
