The first single from Blue System's 9th album "21st Century". Dieter is still sticking to his euro-pop sound on this song, but as with the 3 singles that came before this on, you can see that he is trying to experiment with house/Eurodance/techno in the form of the "Prison Mix"

6 Years - 6 Nights (Radio Mix) - A bit darker song when it comes to the tone and feel compared to the other releases from Blue System. Could be that the prison theme it has going for it helps to give it a darker mood to. It's a minimalisitc song. Not that much going on in the instrumental. It is very striped down during the verses (beat, bass, pad and sequenced synth, with a bell synth coming in at the end of the verse) and then it gets a little bit more meat on the bone during the refrain with piano, strings and orchestral bangs. Not a bad song, I like it, but not the best song from Blue System either.

6 Years - 6 Nights (Classic Mix) - This version of the songs, as the name says, has a more classical feel to it. It starts of with a grand opera/orchestral intro in stead. it also has a operatic choir added in the refrain and a little bit different instrumentation and drum groove. This is an interesting version of the song, and I like this better than the original

6 Years - 6 Nights (Instrumental) - Just the instrumental of the original version

6 Years - 6 Nights (Prison Mix) - This is an awesome techno remix of the song. It starts of with some atmospheric fx and ambient sounds and Dieter's voice pitch down to sound more menacing. After the 45 second intro the full beat kicks in. The bass is sampled from D:Ream - Things Can Only Get Better (Cleveland Main Vocal). This is a very minimalistic mix. The main driving force is the beat and the bass line that goes on throughout the track. Half way into the track it breaks into a more energetic part that drops the bass but adds some more percussion. There is also a lot of FX and ambient sounds used throughout the track that helps to give it a dark atmosphere. This is an awesome mix of the song

Overall, the single brings some interesting versions of the song to the table. And if you are a fan of Blue System I would recommend adding this single to your collection. The "Classical Mix" and "Prison Mix" are worth getting a hold of. If you are a techno fan, I would also suggest to check out the "Prison Mix"
