- Flimsy, will-this-do packaging but first-rate audiophile vinyl - everything sounds full, warm and dynamic. Very happy to have this masterpiece in my collection and I won't worry about seeking out any other pressing.

I bought this edition now, but it comes without inner covers. Does anyone have printed inner covers?

I would actually like to know which is technically the first pressing, the UK or U.S?- Sounds great with clarity and loudness, the artwork is ok-ish but what matters most is the sound stage which is awesome. buy with confidence.

compared this to an original pressing, the remaster is definitely louder. The guitar and noisy part of the mix are brought up. The original is a touch quieter and more dynamic. The vocals and drums stand out a lot more and this quietness definitely lets track build up.- My copy has the proof sleeve as two separate pieces of rectangular card approximately 12" x 24" without any tabs, and as is the case here, the inside one is missing 'Teen Age Riot' in the track list.
- Edited 8 months agoThe records themselves I have no qualms about, sounding excellent with all the punch and dynamics you'd hope for on an album like this. The packaging and quality control however is extremely poor, from the gatefold itself bulging very easily and feeling very weak (as well as being aligned slightly wrong on my copy), to the poster being extremely small as opposed to what you'd hope for, to the label misspellings which (unlike what other comments say) still persist on copies to this day. If all this doesn't bother you and you're just here for sound quality though, this is a great pressing.
- Edited one year agoThis is the sound of NYC in 1988. It was one of the hottest summers (to that point, anyway) - more than 60 days over 90 degrees. Daydream Nation captures the humid nights and it squeezes it into wax (or whatever medium you have). Sweating in the subway, grimy from bus exhaust and still low rents. "From Bowery to Broome to Greene I'm a walking lizard". Those words are facts. The 80's US underground at it's peak. The teenage riot got snuffed by grunge yodelers.
