This techno obscurity is one of the many similar from its era. A pretty typical mid nineties release you have a good chance running into while crate digging through sale bins in god forsaken records shops.
A1 is bay far the best tune here. A long minimal track, with a crispy, neck snapping 4x4 kick and gradually developing and growing layers getting added into mix. It never amounts to anything much, yet in its seven minutes it keeps things interesting as it constantly introduces new elements, replacing old ones. A good example of what minimal techno sounded like some fifteen years ago.
A2 and A3 are locked grooves, containing loops from the previous track.
The B side starts with a three minute interlude, where multiple variations of the "U.S.S. Severe" get chopped up and thrown in, as s demented laugh accompanies them from the background.
B2 is a weird, slightly off beat track where a single drum kick is programmed in a way that it echoes, thus leaving an impression of three consecutive drum kicks aligned after each other. With the exception of the odd percussion, nothing will make you want to replay it.
The last track is an incredibly irritating two minute attempt at creating an electro tune, where a god awful vocal going "search & destroy" is put on repeat from the initial mili second through to the last note. At best, this is unnameable.
Anyways, worth giving a shot for the surprisingly good and thumping A side, so if you come across All Aboard The U.S.S. Severe EP, for a reasonable price, hop along for the ride.
