Big Beatles fans here, and I just recently broke out my copy I purchased on RSD, and I must say, the SFF mix sounds so good. It's cleaned up and the sound flows nice and freely through the speakers. Penny Lane also sounds so good on this as well - and this also stands for the quality of the vinyl!! I just wished that these mixes were included in the Sgt. Pepper Deluxe box set.

Disappointed by the sound of this single. For me doesn’t sound like the Giles Martin remix at all.

This re-issue is great. The remix is very well done and the pressing quality on my copy is excellent.

My copy has progressive distortion on the vocal harmonies on penny lane but strawberry fields is not so bad, but there is still a little distortion on the brass section. Playing with an audio technica A440ML.

My copy sounds absolutely incredible. The new stereo mix is very well done.

Sound quality on my copy is pretty abismal. Rice krispies throughout and a noticeable "swoosh"ing noise on SFF.

I bought a sealed copy and the first time playing it was a little disappointed. The disc was dirty with white paper in between the grooves and the quality was pretty off. The rsd box set with Elenor Rigby and ticket to ride sounds 1,000x better. Hell even the target exclusives like let it be and I am the walrus sound much better. I’d probably be a skeptical of any Beatles 7 inch reissues from parlaphone the capitol ones were much more crisp

Well I've played it it sounds so crisp clean and clear John's vocal is centered around a 180 degree stereo sound stage its subtile and sounds fresh.
great great great great shame with PL that they did not replicate that superior and defining Piccolo trumpet ending that USA Capitol did for their original promo 45 and cut that avent garde stuff out remember IMO SFF is even worse strawberry jam, straw-berry- jam, number 9, number 9, number 9, it's not enjoyable its annoying drivvle. IMO naturally

There is also a lovely liitle sax touch that should really end and close Lady Madonna ties it up nicely. but hey ho what do I know I'm just a fan. Sorting out PL would have been great and really meant it had been remixed, Number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9.

Who needs sacking at Calderstone X or Y ?
Touches to do for the Beatles fans before the Diagnosti albums come out:
                    1. On Magical Mystery Tour LP add the film incidentals
Bonzo Dog Do Da Band " Back Street Cutie" The brass band race around the airfield

                    2. On the 1962 -1966 Alan Klein compiled "double red" follow the USA original release and include the James Bond theme parody prior to Help that Klein insisted on and had tagged on.
Otherwise this little nugget of fun will never EVER have had a UK release.
but then what do I know I'm just a Beatle fan

The lister used the wrong terminology the record has a replica dinked 4-pin OC (optional centre) and NO do not push this out you will devalue and or snap the plastic hence this crass terminolgy needs to go! The Centre is Optional and is an OC Optional Centre that has been dinked on a dinking machine (that Germany's Optimal pressing plant has invested in esp after the Magical Mystery tour 7" retro release with drawn on OC's and made UMG a laughing stock with Beatles collectors)
They have made one very big and very stupid mistake on this retro release and it's so obvious it begger's belief and that's the printed matrix on the labels!#
As this 7" is now Stereo and first time UK stereo and following the EMI in-house system and as UMG did not for some daft reason state the stereo sonics on the re-produced labels yet have made in the EEU at 6 o'c then the matix should say 7YCE and not 7XCE the "Y" confirms a stereo master the "X" a mono master.
Clearly the compilers at UMG do not know their facts and these important and correct touches!
                      sack them!
But there you have the reason EMI in bold EVERY MISTAKE IMAGINABLE

If it's stereo remixed or what its YCE if it's still mono also remixed or what it's XCE how simple is that Y = Stereo X = Mono over at EMI at Decca it was XDR for Mono masters/mixes and ZDR for Stereo masters/mixes Z = Stereo X = Mono over at Decca

( Decca group also owned licenced managed etc etc by UMG get your matrix facts right or get out of the job)
Some people who get paid a lot of money do not know their XYZ! fact by trying to be too clever and falling at the final hurdle and not doing their homework).
This 7" should fit nicely with 50th A. Sgt Peppers due on the 26th with new stereo mixes too
YEX or XEX wait and see!

Great shame on this project and a needless gaff!
