This is a seminal crowd pleaser this one. I am aware the origin of this track is sometimes disputed, but i can confirm this track was produced by twitch and brainstorm. i believe a test copy of the track was played at Pure late 92/early 93 and the crowd reaction was enough of an indicator to guarantee a full release. Twitch and Brainstorm are purests(no pun intended)and do not seek any publicity from the tracks they release. I have several of their releases and have never seen one yet that is attributed to either of them directly. They use various monikers and aliases which i think undelines the point that these guy's werent in it for fame and fortune but more a way of life. Massive Respect.

According to the t&b site this record is described thus "A kind of bootleg remix of State of Fluxs' "Mind Weeds" which featured a great deal more of the Jello Biafra speech and was actually quite informative...it was available on a spectacular two sided pictire disc - one side dedicated to the weed in question, the other to the T&B man. "
EGE BAM YASI was on that record label at the time.

Yes, State of Flux were a couple of guys - their names escape me - who were friends of a friend at Glasgow School of Art, back in 1993 or thereabouts. It definitely isn't a cover for Twitch & Brainstorm, although they were certainly friendly with the guys from Pure, and may have played one of the big Pure nights at the Barrowlands. I remember a party at their flat where Speedy J was a guest, and they owned a Roland 303: I'd never seen one before...

I have the picture disc - TB-1005. In the run off grooves it says "Dedicated to Caleb" on side 1 and side 2 has dedicated to Fraser. The track is credited to "State of Flux" and there is no mention of Edinburgh's favourite acid eggster anywhere. I think this track is more likely to be the work of Twitch and Brainstorm (the DJ's at Pure and the men behind the T & B label) rather than Ege Bam Yasi. I remember EBY was playing a few PA's at Pure around the time that this was released but I don't think he's connected to it. Anybody out there know for sure ?
