Reviews
- I wrote this review in 2001 for my website punkupdates.com:
Honest Don's seem to put out the more poppy bands then their Fat-parent. This band (which as of yet isn't big in Japan I guess), is no exception. Flirting with Elvis Costello-alike new wave in songs like "New Dead Boyfriend" and "Hell Before Reno", they punk-speed things up with good guitar-riffs and nice vocals from former Zoinks! and Screeching Weasel guy Zac Damon. My over-all feeling though is that this disc won't be a stayer for me. Maybe it's not a good reference, but everytime when I started listening to this album my attention was straying after a few songs. Nothing bad to tell about the sound, no surprise, this album was produced by no other then Mass Giorgini and recorded in the Sonic Iguana studio's. I guess if you like bands like maybe Big Drill Car and have some background with New Wave this one's for you.
Think Elvis Costello meets modern Punk bands.
