Sounds great. Mine is flat and quiet but it seems unusual for a VMP Essential not to have a booklet. You get a tip-on jacket, no gloss... all matt. Minimal liner notes on the obi and there is a cocktail recipe(?) included. I wouldn't call it an "essential" or even a "classic" but it is a damn fine soul-sister album without the brain-piercing high-pitched shrieks of Aretha Franklin. Mavis has a slightly deeper, huskier voice and that is a welcome thing. Beautifully mastered and pressed just right. There is also an art print with no relevance to the music... but it's there if you want it.

A really solid pressing! I opened up a new version of this in 2023 and can confirm the pressing sounds and looks stunning. The label issues must be on a singular issue and not across the entire run. Definitely pick this up while it’s <$30!!

Is this AAA? Description only mentions original master tapes. My guess is digital but no mention anywhere

Well-mastered by Kevin Gray, clear and powerful sound. Pressing is silent, but as others have noted is slightly off-center on side 2. I do not hear much wow, but my sensitivity to that is low.

My copy's spindle hole is off-center resulting in audible wow. Wondering if there is anyone else with a similar issue.
