- Edited one year agoThe initials GH in the deadwax confirms it was mastered from analogue tape by George Horn (edit - GH actually refers to Gary Hobish, mastering engineer at Fantasy until 1986). OJC reissues up to ~1986 were almost all analogue-sourced. I'm sure info like this is scattered throughout other OJC listings on Discogs, but this is the only one I have. Can confirm that this sounds fantastic for a budget jazz pressing, and would certainly seek out other 80s-era OJC pressings.
