5th outing for ATB, and 3 years after the last edition he comes back with a 3-disc extravaganza. DJ3-4 were both cut from the same cloth, but for DJ 5 (and 6), ATB approaches the mix compilation from a new angle and I think it has mixed results tbh. The first disc has some fantastic tracks, but the flow and song selection are a little dodgy at times. He drops some great tunes, but the energy goes in some strange directions, not quite doing the tracks justice. Disc 2 is an improvement, with some top tracks and a more sensible flow, although I have no idea why everyone rinsed "I Love You" as much as they did at this time because it is beyond cringey. For the third disc, we get a really nice classics mix here, with 2-decade track selection and a really nice flow -- the album is worth buying just for this disc. Really enjoyable. 4/5

This three-disc album really took me on a roller-coaster ride. At first I didn't like it at all, especially disc 2, but then I found myself playing "Shades of Love" on repeat to learn the lyrics so I could sing along. Disc 1 has the most authentic trance sound beginning with the club mix of "Bliss" and disc 2 is more progressive. Both discs have nice closing tracks that evoke feelings of peace. The Classix Mix is excellent. If you're not a veteran listener of the trance/electronic genre these tracks won't bring back waves of nostalgia, but anyone who's anyone should recognize "Cafe del Mar" followed by "Saltwater" featuring Moya Brennan's ethereal voice. "Greece 2000" is another throwback to the early days of trance and it manages to sound fresh among the track selection because ATB is such a great mixer.
