Reviews
- I am fortunate enough to have a very pristine copy of this 1954 US pressing and every time I listen to it I am blown away by the quality of the recording. It is a very early example of a superbly mixed hi-fidelity, monophonic recording. Beautiful separation of instruments, which is so challenging with such a wide range of instrumentation (loads of horns, drums, woodwind, piano, bass and some vocals) all jammed into one channel. I’m not a huge Dixieland jazz fan by any means - but you don’t need to be to enjoy this album.
For what these are selling for here on Discogs, they are a steal and, in my humble opinion, worth having in any collection.
