- Right !!!!
I found that years ago in Konstanz , it comes from Dieter Zimmerle Archiv ...Jazz Podium Member , so i bought that with no idea, and by far , it was the most Suprise from all the Records i bought in that Holliday , and i bought a lott , also in east Europe ,Klassik and Modern Stuff from all Periods, and still its for my Opinion an Fantastic Juwel !!!
The Recording and Pressing is also Great done . Try to get one !! - This has been on my want list for a long time and I don't know how I found out about it. I do know that I had not heard most of the lp because if I had, this would have been in my collection a long time before that.
It is hard to believe that this was recorded in 1964-5 and it wasn't published until the 70's. It's mind blowing that they were making this sound back then and I wish there were more records by them.
This is a mix of that Swedish folk sound mixed with Indian raga with a spiritual bend. It's hard to compare but it reminds me a tad of the Indo-British Ensemble (1969) or The Joe Harriott work with John Mayer (1966+). It's deep, highly original and thoughtful. I know they were not the first to play with the mixing of styles, but they did it in a way that is really sophisticated while retaining that raw energy.
I can't recommend this lp more strongly if this is your thing. You won't regret it.
