Vince Guaraldi – It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (Original Soundtrack Recording)

Having enjoyed the previous version with the sound effects...it added a novelty for sure. If you want to hear the music and just the music this is fantastic. I love the shape, but really the sound crushes it. I was really happy to hear the quality on this release.

So much better than the previous 45rpm release, this one benefitting from unearthing the actual masters. While musically not up to the standard of A Charlie Brown Christmas, it's still a fanatastic and nostalgic album to own.

I agree with the other reviewers. With a gimmicky orange, pumpkin shaped vinyl it would be reasonable to expect the sound to suffer. (With two little kids, the “gimmicky” record actually works to my advantage.) But this release sounds great, and I am very happy to have avoided the original release from 4 years ago.

Wish the paper liner had some stiffer material inside so the whole thing doesn’t turn floppy when you take the record out.

Also interesting that 566 is 33rpm?

Is the outer sleeve material safe for the record over the long term? I’m still new to records again and I know I’ve read about some outer sleeves that are not good material and this is different than the other outer sleeves I’ve encountered.

Probably worth saying I echo the other comments. This sounds great to me and the pumpkin shape is cool. +1 would buy again.

Honestly wasn’t expecting much from
A pumpkin shaped record, but it sounds good, very little surface noise and completely flat. Just make sure you get the 2022 repress I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the original pressing, with all the sound effects

Very nice, warm sound. My copy had minimal pops here and there right out of the sleeve. Considering the age of the recording and its original intention, I think this sounds very good. The nostalgia, the cool pumpkin shape? This hits all the right buttons for me.
