Mine arrived today. Packaged very well but came with no shrink wrap on the set. Did anyone else receive theirs the same way or was it wrapped?

My copy is quiet and flat. The mix is on the high end compared to the MOV copy of JoF/SAP, but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near "unlistenable". I didn't have the same surface scratching issues others here have had but it certainly was a chore getting it out of the sleeve. Take you're time getting it out and you should be fine. Overall, it's not the definitive vinyl copy but it's still really solid and I'm happy with it.

      My setup:
TT - Pioneer PL-540 with an Ortofon Red
      Receiver - Sony SQR-8750
      Speakers - Realistic Mach Ones

Has anyone in the United States who ordered from the official US store that is being distributed by Manhead actually gotten theirs or recieved shipping notification? I placed my order the day it dropped and have recieved nothing from them.

For that price they could've at least included the 'Sap' EP as well like many versions have

Really lovely box, fantastic colorful LP and really well-curated super book with vintage photos of the band. Awesome double side poster. The effect in the dark with the red light on is simply crazy cool. They could have charged a little less and added more material but it is still a beautiful product!!!

every year when they do one of these box sets, I get so excited and then when they reveal them, I’m disappointed again and again for the exact same reasons. I would love to buy one because I’m a huge box fan but the lack of any additional content just does not compute with me. Metallica box sets are probably the gold standard to what all box sets should be like. loads and loads of content both extra music, videos, and picture books. They have everything and for a very similar price to Alice in Chains. I was able to get the black album set for $100 brand new sealed.

All this is to say, there is absolutely no reason Alice In Chains couldn’t throw together some live compilation record, or some studio outtakes or hell even an interview on CD. they never toured this record so jar of flies may be a special exception, but there is loads and loads of unofficial and bootleg shows floating around..
Nirvana and their latest “In Utero” box set made the very smart move to actually release some of those bootleg shows officially for the first time ever.

I am a massive Alice in Chains span and so I do not want this to come across as just me bashing the band because I love them to death but I feel like their boxes are really expensive for what you get. the knickknacks are really cool but as a physical media enthusiast who buys media to actually consume it and not just look at it, these box sets feel more geared to knickknack collectors than they do record or CD collectors.

Whoever is putting together these sets, if you’re reading this we want more music not just more photos or posters. while they are cool $250 just for 6 songs is crazy.

I don’t understand the negative comments. My first impressions of this box are all positive, it’s good stuff with high quality. The book is sturdy hardcover with great photos + Nice Poster. Presentation is original : the logo embossed jar (with red LED light and faux flies) in front of the 3D lenticular cover art create an impressive effect. No regrets to grab it.

Weird box set if you ask me here. Just not a lot here worth it. All time favorite album but I’ll probably end up selling this one unfortunately.

Considering the price of it there's not really much. I personally would of liked to have seen a cassette & cd of the album as well.

Album is one of my fav's, so bought the box mainly due to the split colour selling out and only the box being available.

So Vinyl is great, Book is great. Box and plastic jar is one of the worst gimmicks piece of **** i've ever seen. Utter rubbish. Wish i'd just bought a copy of the split vinyl from a second hand seller and forgot about the box etc. It's now in the loft and won't be seen again.
