Pulp – Intro – The Gift Recordings

Great mastering except "Razzmatazz" which sounds...compressed? muffled? Pressing-wise, both sides have typically noisy GZ lead-ins - wooshing and crackle. Side A was otherwise mostly quiet except for a weird squeak near the beginning of "O.U." and some clicks at the end of "Razzmatazz." Side B really pissed me off because there were a lot of clicks & pops during "Sheffield: Sex City" and occasionally during the rest of the side. Thrice ultrasonically cleaned, but problems remain. As "O.U." and "S:SC" are two of my favourite tracks on this compilation, I am not pleased. Typical GZ crap.

Very good press. Sounds great! The blue vinyl color is very nice.

anyone have any idea of quantities pressed for this ?

I was really pleased to see this in the RSD list as originals are very hard to come by and cost silly money, but my heart sank a little when i saw the "Made in Czech Republic" sticker, Czech pressings are notoriously bad so I cleaned it before playing, dropped the needle and sure enough it was full of surface noise. I've cleaned it a couple more times and it has improved but it's a long way from being a great pressing. I'm happy to have it in my collection as it's an LP I've been after for a long time but it's disappointing that RSD has just become a cash cow for the big companies, cheaply produced records sold at inflated prices.

Lovely little typo on the hype sticker! It’s says ‘Razzamatazz’ instead of ‘Razzmatazz’

Amazing press. Sounds wonderful, great remaster and nice blue colour.
