- Is there a remastered 2018 cd version ? I do have the Pure 11LPX remastered clear vinyl and there's no download code in it...
- Edited 3 years agoFor anyone looking for clarification on the various pressings and which seem best to buy in light of past issues this might be of some help:
From Beggars Group -
"Any remaining copies of the clear US pressing were destroyed and should not be available via our direct distributor. If you’re buying a black copy, there should be nothing wrong with it.
The back of the sleeve should have different credits, reflecting the newer remaster, stating re-mastered by Bo at Calyx, Berlin." - Was surprised that this was not among the Stereolab reissues. Press this baby up and tack on the Lo-Fi EP for some of the bonus tracks!
- Edited 4 years agoStay away from the 2008 reissue. Go for the first pressing if you have the cash. Otherwise go for the remastered 2018 pressing peeps
- Edited 5 years agoRight now, this amazing album (still fresh after more than quarter of a century), sounds the closest to White Light/White Heat i can think of from an avant garde point of view.
- Edited 5 years agoJust picked up a new, sealed LP of Peng today 10/31/18...black vinyl with insert and mp3 coupon, not the clear vinyl that is supposedly coming...but with the matrix number 144078E1/2. Sounds like what this record is supposed to sound like! Very happy with the pressing and it's clearly not the version from 2008 people say sounds like garbage :) The store had "Space Age Bachelor Pad" as well but I didn't pick that up as I already have a copy. Anyway, happy to have a good pressing of this classic back in circulation!
