If you’ve ever wondered what Gospel music would sound like if it was sung by Depeche Mode, then here’s your answer.

    Strangely, it works incredibly well.

There are no synths here, just mellow Gospel music played in a kind of modern alternative rock style. Dave’s vocals fit perfectly, perhaps because of his experiences getting over his drug problems of the 90’s. Clearly Gospel music fits well with his redemption which makes this album feel very authentic.

Now, if only Depeche Mode would leave the Gospel to Soulsavers and get back to synth pop…
