This is indeed a terrible pressing.. I got here because I first thought the MC phono stage of my Kenwood amp was gone.. But finally decided to look into the reviews.. turns out to be this distortion-laden-garbage-pressing! DO NOT BUY

      Utterly awful pressing.

The distortion is beyond belief, this is the worst vinyl record I have EVER listened to (and I have listened to plenty of crap recordings over the years)! The tracks are incorrectly spaced with walls thinning to next to nothing in many places.

How this got passed from any form of quality control is beyond me. Given that this is something visible for close up inspection to the naked eye and would be audible with a simple playing test on even a basic system there really is no excuse.

I have a really good vinyl replay system, but this disc is unplayable.

If I was a conspiracy theory person, I would say that it was deliberately sabotaged to make the CD and Digital Download versions sound good. However as the saying goes "Don't ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.".

Anyway, huge and utter disappointment, and in my opinion "Not fit for purpose".

Terrible vinyl release - I should have checked the reviews before buying. Every review of the vinyl version reports clipping and bad mastering on Amazon US and elsewhere.
I am sad to report that the LP is a waste of money. About 10mn of quiet parts are OK here and there, the rest is unbearably clipped and distorded.
Stay away from this version, I am sure it will be re-pressed.

Embarrassingly poor pressing. No dynamic range. Noisy.
Which is tragic because the Zimmer's work here is brilliant. Worked to HDTs benefit - I bought a 24-196 copy from them and it sounds awesome.

I bought mine from French Amazon for 25€ and I think it's an overpriced shitty pressing of a great soundtrack. I received it this morning, removed shrink and played it once after cleaning both sides with an antistatic soft brush and noticed lots of distortion in the background, lots of surface noise and had to push the bass frequencies on my Hi-Fi's EQ to get a decent sound. On top of that, the cover is already unglued straight out of the shrink. It's a great deception for me because I love the soundtrack and this shitty pressing ruins it all.

Mine also has alot of surface noise and clipping when it gets heavy, disapointed considering this soundtrack hits all the sweet spots, but it looses its effect here. Hoping it clears up after a good wash, however, brand new should not sound like this. Bad rating goes to the pressing.

My copy came with a bit of surface noise and whenever the bass is heavy, it sounds like it clips slightly like on the cd. From what I've experienced, no one seems to remember how to properly press a vinyl soundtrack these days as the recent pressings of Donny Darko, Batman Begins, and Inception all came with some degree of noise while my old copies of The Pink Panther, Star Wars, and Close Encounters remain close to noise free. Even the cover of this release isn't free from problems: after applying some pressure to the cover's top to get the inner sleeve out, the glue holding the cover together on the top and bottom came undone, so now I have to re-glue the cover back together. However, vinyl and cover issues aside, this soundtrack is excellent. Hans Zimmer is never one to disappoint, and this is no exception. Definitely on par with, if not better than, the previous Batman soundtracks. While the music itself gets a 5/5, this release as a whole is a bit of a disappoinment and to me warrants nothing more than a 2/5.
