- Edited 6 months agoAlbum Revolution #8:
I said that once "Larry Graham" goes solo, I would stop the Album Revolution....But to be honest with you, I just couldn't because "One In A Million You" was way too good to ignore...
I will admit that this comes nothing close to none of the "Graham Central Station" albums, but at least right here, "Larry" got it right...
The Crown Jewel "Title Track" has "Larry" going in a total different direction, with one of the most beloved "R&B Slow Jams" of all time!!!!!
That also goes for the 2nd Crown Jewel "Wedding" classic, "When We Get Married" (I also have "The Intruders" version, even though I don't know if it's the original)....I must admit that I HATED this song back then, but I realized the only reason I did, was because I was only 9 when it came out (LOL!!!!!).....
There were also great up tempo songs as well like, "I'm So Glad It's Summer Again" (3rd Crown Jewel), "Stand Up And Shout About Love" and "I Just Can't Stop Dancing"....
Even the short songs in "Forever Yours" and "Sunshine, Love & Music" (4th Crown Jewel), have a place here....
With this album, you can tell that "Larry" switched Instruments on us....Instead of focusing on his Bass (which he still played hard), he focused on his "Voice"...."Larry" was always an excellent singer, but these songs really got you to understand that...Well, I have to end the Album revolution here....But even if that is the case, "Larry" would be far from finished!!!!!!
