Reviews
- This was one of the few singles I bought at the time of release. I quite like the LP version and remix treatment is really a complete over-hall with all the important bits in tact. I was unaware of any political messages contained here, I just liked the musical texture and the remix treatment. It is not really a remix in the conventional sense as most of the vocals have been rerecorded. They probably should have called it a rework. The remix instrumental is a great track as it gives you a chance to hear the instrumentation in full. I'm not sure if that was the reason it was included or if it were just to show the track with the absence of lead vocals, mainly Bob Marley's vocals, as a tribute to Bob Marley himself. The fact that a couple of Bob Marley's children got involved obviously shows great support for this work and I honestly believe it pays off. I guess it was better that the song was reworked as opposed to sampling previously recorded material. The last track is clearly just there as a B side. Not the best version of that song around, but still nice to have. You may need to listen to it a few times to get to like it better though. Maybe a live version of No Woman No Cry would have been better included?
