ADNY & The Persuader – Quarter Of A Century

Tech-house doesn't get much smoother than the collaboration of two of the masters: ADNY and Persuader. On QUARTER OF A CENTURY, they gather together their various 12" and present them here for our delectation. The tribal percussion of "Omnipotent" contrasts the breathy synths above it, while "The Beauty Of Final Causes," focusing on the bassline. The interlude "Roots" gets even more tribal, with croaking frogs and all, before "Supple Her Skin" rights the ship once more with a spoken word. Meanwhile, the steady groove of "Make It Right" and "Sun Dried" keep things on an even keel. The nautical interlude of "Big Blue" eases gently into the thick bass of "Indulgements" and the jazz saxophone of "On the Veranda." And "Feels Funny" closes the album on a slice of aural bliss. While this album may come off as simply ear candy, there's enough here to keep the listening tapping his feet.

Gorgeous, deep and sexy music. Raunchy percussion, lush pads, feverish jazzy organs, sultry basslines and slick, housey beats with a Techno edge.

Not too far away from what Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlbäck were doing on Stephan Grieders legendary "Svek" imprint at the time. Same quality for sure, maybe even a tiny bit more diverse and melodic.

Personal favourites include the opener "Omnipotent" with its delirious organ jam, some musings between poetry and dirty talk on "Supple Her Skin" and the warm, dubby Techhouse grooves of "Sun Dried" and "Indulgements". And let's not forget "On The Veranda", a cool slice of late night jazz with dreamy sax solos on top.
