In October 2023, UK's Royal Mail increased their prices a lot on small parcels and this has had to be reflected in our postage costs. There's nothing we can do about that. Placing a large order now saves more (proportionally) compared to small orders, and depending on where you are in the world, really big orders get free postage.
Please note that ORDERS ARE ONLY PROCESSED ON WEEKENDS- so if you order on a Monday, your order may not be dispatched for 5 or 6 days. If you need an item urgently, please send us a message before ordering. We can't provide guaranteed delivery dates.
Standard shipping prices:
Shipping prices should be calculated and displayed by Discogs automatically. These automated prices do NOT cover registered or tracked delivery, unless specifically stated. The default UK prices are for second class (2nd), and international prices are for standard airmail- please contact us before paying if you want to use a more expensive faster service.
Due to Discogs shipping policy changes, you might get quoted some very high figures for shipping if ordering multiple items. If the shipping figure is substantially higher than the actual shipping cost, we can discuss adjustments either before or after the order is placed.
Italian customers please note that due to the poor quality of the postal service in Italy, then you'll have to pay for registered delivery. Unless it's tracked delivery, we refuse to accept liability if the Italian postal service loses yet another CD.
Bulk purchases:
Very large purchases will get free shipping applied automatically (£75 in the UK at time of writing, £150 anywhere in the world).
Below those figures, shipping will be significantly less per disc for bulk purchases, but more for heavier items and box sets. Shipping costs are actual costs via the standard delivery service, calculated via the Royal Mail Price Finder, plus around 80p for packaging and to cover PayPal fees incurred for receiving payments.
If you would particularly like either economy delivery (cheaper but slow), or recorded or express delivery (more expensive), send a message when you place the order.
For really big orders, we ship via UPS, which saves a lot of money.
Jewel cases:
Our gradings are based on the discs and the inlays rather than the cases. Where possible, if a jewel case is broken or looking a little worn, it will be replaced before the item is shipped, but not all jewel cases will be in perfect condition.
Shipping prices will include jewel cases as standard. If you are happy to have your order shipped without jewel cases, send a message with or after your order, and the shipping price can be adjusted accordingly. Shipping without jewel cases makes no difference to cost when ordering 1 or 2 CD's, but can save money on bulk shipping.
Recorded delivery:
The standard delivery for normal orders is NOT recorded or tracked delivery.
If you want, we are happy to send via recorded delivery on request. This will normally cost £2 extra within the UK, or £6.50 extra outside the UK. Send us a message after ordering and the shipping cost will be adjusted.
If recorded delivery is not used, then refunds will only be issued for non-arrival of items if Royal Mail issue compensation. All international orders get a Certificate of Posting stamp, but persuing this is a very slow process- you have to wait 90 days to even claim, then another 90 days for a response! If you're not willing to wait that long, you need tracked delivery.
An order WILL be quoted with a shipping price for recorded or tracked delivery if the order is:
- over £30 outside Europe, or
- over £40 within Europe or to Russia, or
- over the weights listed in the standard shipping policies above, or
- destined to anywhere in Central or South America, or to Italy.
If your order meets any of the above descriptions, or the order is outside Europe, but you do not want to pay for recorded delivery, that's fine; but we then cannot then be held liable for the non-arrival of a parcel, unless Royal Mail issue compensation for the delivery.
