Basically a beatnuts album, the one that got them their ep deal. Recommended if you’re a fan of their stuff.

The rapping is obviously quite dated.

Great cover of "while my guitar gently weeps". Featured on Dusty Fingers vol. 3.

A cheap way to get a copy of "900 Shares of the Blues" on Groove Merchant. The misleading retitling and generic revised cover throws most dealers off. Plus this series of records are usually turds, this one a huge exception.

I have the 2007 cd on meantime also, that one is better than this vinyl pressing.

I also have the Matthew Herbert Rmx 12” of “meaning of love”. That one sounds the best out of the 3.

This cover is good but hubbard’s red clay is better, no question.

Rap sample drives demand.

This one was always quite rare, even 20 yrs ago when I bought mine. Closest parallel (release timeframe, musical style) would be the burnier e Cartier, which showed up more often than this (bigger label, better distro).

This record should be worth so much more. A modern classic, y’all sleeping.

Nerded out with a few friends today and went back and forth between this reissue and the og. Reissue def more digital sounding, more importantly was 1% slower.

Specifically the song “My Life”.

Compared between 2 x sl 1200m3d. Yes the pitch on both... See full review

This has aged well, still remains a broken classic. Maybe got overplayed a little during its heyday but it's been long enough to bust it out again.

Pretty sure it’s digital, sounds like it to me when I compare it to my flacs.

I don’t own this og but a bunch of other tbm og’s. They don’t have this digital sound to it.

Sounds compressed to me. I compared it to my og jpn press of the album (Turn This Mutha Out) which sounds better.

The dilla book made this record one of its key moments in its narrative.

This was first comped by Joey negro on kings of disco. A good decade before mcde’s set.

Just giving credit where credit is due.

Look at how the inner ring on the record label intersects “2C”. It is clearly diff between the og and reissue.

Plus if it looks crispy, it’s prob too good to be true.

To this day I don’t understand why the price on this skyrocketed overnight to ridiculous levels. Did someone sample this recently?

It’s a good album but not for these ludicrous prices.

IMO one of Jazztronik's best remixes. Kinda obscure at this point as it's Japan only and not on any streaming platform.

You can always just message him directly no? I'm sure you probably follow him on IG, univerogawa.

As for quality I've been impressed, haven't come across a duff pressing, I must have over 10 at least.

Sound source on this is bad, audio is very compressed on both lp/cd. You’re much better off with the Mr. Bongo reissue.

Not yet on the radar, but should be. City pop/AOR crossover, "Live Inside Your Love" is so smooth.

Hideki’s best lp if you’re a city pop collector. Kadomatsu & Yoshida shines all over this, one of his best production works and still under the radar.....essential.
