Reviews
- This double A-side 12" shows the range & depth of the 7A3`s music & lyrics. The Party side features "Party Time", which is guaranteed to shake all your speakers & move the crowd. The city mix was performed at Philadelphia's studio 4 by the now legendary Joe The butcher, who has produced & engineered for Philly`s best, including Schooly-D,Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, and Steady B,among others.
"Party Time" shows that the 7A3 know how to rock and have a good time with the best of them.
The Reality Side features "WHY?",which is a serious to gang violence. As in all inner cities, the reality of gang violence is something that kids live with from day to day.The song asks "Why does a brother kill another for the colour of a rag?".These rappers have meaningful thoughts to express, but they stress that their music will always stand on its own & the beats will always be hard.Disliking the term 'Message Song' because that usually means that the music has been watered down.Their music & rhymes are always strong.
