I have to disagree with Stuart on this EP. For myself the absolute bomb on this 12" it the track 'Aural Approach' by Synecitcs. Abstract acid techno at it's finest that remains something you can still dance to. !referencing Untitled (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Stereo) DELIRIUM 12
Surprised there aren't more comments on this release so I'll offer mine.
The 2x Atom Heart tracks are definitely the pick on this release for me.
'Cluster Edit' almost has a Japanese feel to it and reminds me of the soundtrack to Last Ninja on the C64 as it has some delicate, simple floating melodies hovering above a basic, sparse, machine-driven percussion line. It evolves nicely and has quite a 'light' feel to it.
'Adobe' is my favourite track. It is much darker and driving with a minimal but hard percussion line. On top of this is a pulsing bassline and again those dreamy, delicate synth strings drifting in and out with very occasional hints of 303. This track has certainly aged well and is the sort of material I'd half expect to hear in a contemporary, eclectic techno mix.
A release definitely worth picking up for the 2x high-quality Atom Heart tracks alone.
