I saw this for sale in on a domestic advertising site so I pulled the trigger. It’s more or less a fleshed out greatest hits package with some non album extras. I wish it had more B-Sides on it though. But it sounds great. Was this one reissued in 2000? I’ve heard it was and was remastered? Or was it just the same mastering as the 2000 box? I find the colour discs a bit more modern than you’d see in 1990. - For those planning on buying this set, I highly recommend the original 1990 set since they remastered the audio for the re-release in 2000, as it sounds harshly compressed. Stick with the 1990 set for audiophile quality audio. Otherwise the set is a solid 5 stars!
- My copy of this 1990 box set (purchased new in shrink wrap) has three of the four discs (discs 1, 3, and 4) showing Matrix Runouts different than those listed in the above entry. However, my disc 2 Matrix Runout matches the above entry exactly. Interesting, though I don't know what this means, exactly.
- Mine is slightly different. It has the same catalog number and UPC, but the disc faces painted and use a newer version of the MCA logo. It is also a limited edition, stamped on the rear of the box.
- I think it's wrong to list this CD as a standalone, because it was never sold separately but only as part of the boxset.
