If someone doesn't know who Grails are by now and this is their first introduction to the artist, then this release just may not be your best bet to finding out what this group has done for "Deep Politics." This has to be their greatest production effort thus far. Fully incorporating every element of their beings and all that they've come from by integrating eloquent components as part of a greater whole. Combined with their knowledge of music production and the kind of instrumentation as uniquely designed by Grails' own dynamic palette, it has no choice but to evolve into this stylish sound. Caught between the fine lines of vintage and modern, there's always something dark here, always something provocative that never hinders or diminishes the beautiful mystery held within. Grails hold no alms to pander or placate their sound through making albums. It's simply a display of talent and ingeniously inventive rhythms and beats flowing in and out dark booms and sharp clangs. Very cinematic workings of mood and emotion tied to stark simplicity. This music was made for the big screen. This is music for the ages. Where else can it go from here?
