Lee Morgan – Vol. 3

No issues with my copy, plays great. Didn't anticipate the highest industry standards for mastering since it is not advertised as such. Affordable, clean copy to add to my collection.

I have to say my copy sounds great. This is a beautiful performance, exactly the caliber of jazz you would expect from Morgan and Co. My copy has no sound issues whatsoever, clean and quiet. It could’ve used a little better mastering but still sounds very good. Certainly no complaints at $25..

QA completely failed on this record which is such a pity as the album itself is a masterpiece. I received two sealed copies and especially side 1 is unlistenable..there is an incredible level of noise all over the place and even after 3-4 washes it remains unlistenable. Don’t waste your money on this pressing..

The entire Blue Note "From The Original Masters" series was done off digital files. It is not a secret anymore.

The covers are very pretty but I would not pay $100 for a re-issue cover ever, no matter how nice they are done.

Outstanding recording. This mono version blows it out of the water. BG did a hell of a mastering job for Classic Records. Highly recommended as for most of the CR mono jazz reissues.

Bought this new in August 2020 for $49.95 direct through Music Matters. It seems even on the MM site they are increasing the prices on certain releases depending on the popularity of the albums and personnel. Is this common practice? Some are going for $50 and others for upwards of $130, all 45RPM. Seems kind of shady.

Good Hard Bop from Gigi Gryce (playing nice flute on "Hassan's Dream"), Benny Golson, Wynton Kelly and your main man who wasn't even 20 years old. This sextet is a pretty strong ensemble, playing only compositions by Golson, including a fine rendition of "I Remember Clifford".
