So far one of my two favorite trance albums (the other is "Reflections" by Paul van Dyk, shame it wasn't released on vinyl in original, un-remixed version :c). Every single track on this album is perfect. 10/10 - Edited 5 years ago

Only Japanese release has 'The Game' as a bonus track. - Is this album copy protected? I have to make digital rips and my optical drive cannot finish ripping, it actually gives up and spits it out! O_o
- This release is one of the biggest disappointments ever. THEY PUT GAPS BETWEEN THE SONGS! UNACCEPTABLE!

This is System F best Album, very melodic, optimistic, uplifting, relaxing and highly suitable for clubs. Also this is a good soundtrack for a sci-fi book.- Edited 14 years ago

This album is outstanding. I've found that often with these trance artist albums, the only good tracks are the singles you already know, and the rest is either filler trance or music that veers off disappointingly into completely different styles (ie. electro, ambient, breakbeat) and whilst you may like those styles, they're not what you bought that particular album for.
Anyway, that is not the case here. Almost every track on 'Out Of The Blue' is instantly recognisable as the top quality work of Ferry Corsten. This album personifies a time when euphoric trance was at it's peak - they just don't make 'em like this anymore. Standout tracks here are 'Out Of The Blue', 'Elevate', 'Exhale', and 'Solstice', but in my humble opinion the star of this album is the wonderfully dark and hypnotic 'Needlejuice'.
The only tracks that don't do it for me are the two with vocals, 'Cry' and 'Soul On Soul'. They are not bad tracks per se, but the vocals seems a little out of place on an album which is predominantly instrumental. It's a small gripe though, and ultimately down to personal taste.
In conclusion, this album is a must have for any fan of late 90's/early 00's euphoric trance. referencing Out Of The Blue (CD, Album) BIG CD 090
One of the best trance albums ever created, if not the greatest of all.
It's hard to explain in words why this piece is so unique and good, you have to listen to yourself.
One os the most important characteristic of it is that the artist does not ride the idea to death, the styles are so greatly varied that it's a pleasure to listen continuously, it does not become boring as many artists long plays in this genre. What's more, this album was meant to be listened from the beginning to the end. Like a journey you have to live through, a spiritual and physical travel with low and highs, it contains everything to heal yourself and forget the problems.
The most perfectly composed trance album so far.- Edited 17 years ago

I heard 'Cry', back in 2000. A friend, who had this album, told me that 'Cry' was one of the least great tracks on it. He later sent it to me and i fell in love with it from the very first moment. The blend of different trance styles is what makes this CD perfect; from downtempo progressive trance like 'Lost in Motion' and 'Indian Summer' to harder progressive trance like 'Needle Juice' and massive melodic killer tracks like 'Out of the Blue', 'Exhale' and 'Solstice'. This is trance at its perfection; a got-to-have for all trance lovers.
