British hornist, and French Horn teacher, also known as Jim Buck Jnr. Died in 1997.
He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and, on leaving there, spent his two years national service playing in a band. He played with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, spent eight years with Yehudi Menuhin's orchestra and worked with the Orchestra Of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, which he left to freelancing. In 1967, he was one of the four hornists brought in to work on The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". He then became a member of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and the Locke Brass Consort. Whilst freelancing, he worked with several different orchestras and on a lot of films, including most of the James Bond series.
