American blues pianist and singer, a.k.a. Dr. Feelgood, younger brother of Rufus Perryman, more known as Speckled Red.
He made recordings backing Blind Willie McTell in 1936, but these were left unissued. His own recording career began in 1950 and he recorded prolifically almost up to his death. He performed regularly at Muhlenbrink's Saloon in Underground Atlanta for years, where he was recorded live for several releases.
