Looking for this! Let me know if you have one for sale. Thanks - [email protected]- Some people are saying what a great Picture Disc this is sound wise but as far as my copy is concerned, I still get the customary "wind-tunnel whooshing" between tracks and in the super quiet bits. I expected that because it goes with the territory. You sacrifice some sound quality for a really cool looking disc. If you're just an average guy with an average stereo and an average outlook, this won't bother you too much. However, if you are a super-anal audiophile with a sound system resembling Kenneth Strickfaden's Frankenstein laboratory (in that old Boris Karlof movie) with all those glowing tubes and electrical arcs, then this PD is not for you. The "whoosh" factor is there, let me assure you.
- My copy is mislabeled as Van Morrison - Moondance. And its a bad pressing to boot. Tons of surface noise and a really muddy mix.

Closest version I could find. My labels are the same except are missing the ‘v’ under STEREO and no made in U.K. on green labels. Matrix is stamped K 47027 A2- I’m kind of surprised the 1969 mix doesn’t command a much higher price? Unbeknownst to me I had the original mix, I went to a party in 1987 and someone played their copy which was the 1971 remix I was confused and said “my copy is different” my friends said “no john you’re just stoned” but I kept insisting and they condescendingly said “yeah John they mixed you a special version” and shook their heads. I didn’t know about the two versions until the internet became useful early 00’s? But I was RIGHT! and unlike many remixes where the differences are minimal there is a huge difference, enough that I noticed it at a party. I’m partial to the 1969 mix because I heard that version first, but if you’re a fan of this record it’s worth getting both.
- Edited 9 months agooutstanding pressing!! Chris bellman did a great job on this american beauty and working mans dead as well, however anthem of the sun is horrid and first G.D first LP but everything else bellman has cut on these rhino reissues are pure gold to the ears!!!!!!!!!!!!! vinyl me please anthem of the sun is outstanding though

For collectors, this might be the cheapest way to obtain the original 1969 mix. This mix, at least in the US, is, I believe considered MIA. There are numerous differences between this original mix and the 1971 remix (specific details of which can be found in this Hoffman board thread: https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/original-mix-of-aoxomoxoa.145132/), but the gist is that the og is more psychedelic and the latter one gets rid of a number of sonic oddments to try and make it more approachable.
