Techno Drome International

Profile:

EBM and Techno label from Frankfurt, Germany, founded in 1987 by Andreas Tomalla (a.k.a. Talla 2XLC). Home of Robotiko Rejekto, The Invincible Spirit, Tribantura, Bigod 20, Pankow and others. The label's first records appeared under the tagline 'Aggrepo', which is a syllabic abbreviation of aggressive / positive – a German-based alternative term for Electronic Body Music.
Techno Drome International was the follow-up company of Future Dance Association (F.D.A.) and part of Music Research. Its name was often abbreviated to T.D.I. or credited together with the parent label ZYX Records as T.D.I./ZYX.
In early 1989, Talla 2XLC cancelled the contract and left the label after a long-running business dispute with ZYX Records (due to the neglect of duty on the part of ZYX, especially regarding promotion of the products). He immediately started two successor companies: New Zone (the electronic dance label) and Zoth Ommog (...for the toughest Aggrepo).
In subsequent years, Techno Drome International morphed into a Techno/House label, bearing no relation to the old staff. The end of the first chapter was sealed when the compilation "Welcome To The Technodrome" saw the light of the day.

The records were categorized under different chapters:

1987–1989: Chapter 1
1989–1991: Chapter 2
1991–1992: Chapter 3
1992–199?: Chapter 4

...and each release under its own program number.
