Really been enjoying this series. Been buying the CD versions as already have a lot of the tracks on vinyl but it's really nice to have them collected on CD for listening and should I decide to sell the vinyls I'll always have most of the tracks on these excellent releases.
Anyone have any idea when the next installment of this series is going to be released? I read somewhere it was going to be some time around October. Any clues to what the tracklist might be?

HI Shmoo!
IIRC the next part comes out in November.
For me the series has been a bit of a disappointment, the 'remastering' just doesn't cut it IMO. I do wonder what the Unreleased tracks would sound like if they'd been mastered at NSC but you can't have it all I suppose.

I've bought the first two volumes on CD and have been impressed with the quality, the tunes sound clearer than ever. I realise that saying this won't win me many friends round here due to the age-old NSC myth/hype, but some of the old records suffered from inadequate mastering and pressing. The Quest wasn't great either, lacked somewhat in the top end.
I have been disappointed with the quality of a lot of so-called re-masters in recent years (Black Dog Book of Dogma, and the Kraftwerk re-issues spring to mind) but no such problems here.

I guess I'm just used to the tracks sounding a certain way and regardless of any "NSC myth / hype", the remastering in some cases sounds too different to what they should sound like.

Picked up the 2nd Vol mainly for Davey Jones Locker & Neon Falls.
Massive difference in sound on the Journey Home compared to my Warp pressing.
Kickdrum has much more ring to it. Makes me wonder how Black Sea could sound after a remaster.
