Quincy Jones – $ (Music From The Original Motion Picture Sound Track)

This is a really good quality pressing. Only picked it up because I heard the instrumental track 'money Runner' on YouTube the other day, randomly. Just thought it was pretty much the funkiest thing I'd ever heard. Not disappointed at all with the rest of this album, either. Underrated soundtrack, I would say.

I think it´s a counterfeit, the quality of the pressing isn´t very fine. And "Reprise Records" isn´t mentioned on the labels.

My Copy is clear, without cracks and back ground noise - super work - perfect sound and dynamic.... but I can not compare with the orig. press

This is a stellar reissue. First off this is an obscure Quincy Jones soundtrack that I would not have known to look for if had not been for the Rhino Records "Start Your Year Off Right" campaign. Being a Q fan, I took a chance on this. What a pay off! To start, this is choc full of killer funky tracks with sophisticated touches of jazz and a range of eclectic styles (i.e. blue grass, tabla, vocalese, etc.) The style variety though is very muchf its times - late 60s/early 70s; however, because of the amazing production, top shelf playing ,and creative/masterful arrangements, it sounds nostalgic/timeless, rather than dated.

Back to the production quality - this was a soundtrack and score to an inconsequential Goldie Hawn/Warren Beatty film with obviously a big budget, which allowed Q to pull out all the stops and flex his talent. The 2021 remastering is superb. really detailed with great sound staging of audiophile quality. This reissue sounds so dang good. Im in love! Pressed on eye-catching, regular weight green vinyl, my disc is a little noisy with some crackle and pop but it may be static as i did not give it the benefit of a initial clean. Yet and still, very playable. Lastly, I want to give a nod to the Little Richard tracks which I was set to dislike, but Q knew what he was doing and gets a great performance from the King of Rock n Roll. Five stars and a must-snag.

Interesting fun heist flick w hawn and Beatty has fun soundtrack , esp w Little Richard and Billy Preston on two new songs . Money Is ( long version) , is somewhat laid back for Richard but it's still a powerhouse jazz-jump blues w typically top of the line orchestration by jones who produced his amazing gospel album , in 1961.
