Recommendations
Reviews
- The Supreme Beings of Leisure came on the heels of the trip-hop explosions, and you can hear the influences in their self-titled debut, with the easy listening strings and electronic trickery of "Never the Same" and the mellow vibe of "Golddigger." "Last Girl On Earth" takes on a more aggressive tone, but the sitar that kicks off "Strangelove Addiction" gives that track a nice twinkle before the house kicks in, going from rough to smooth and back again. "Ain't Got Nothin'" goes into drum'n'bass territory, accompanied by the strings, while "Truth from Fiction" might be laying them on a little too thick. Still, it's nicely atmospheric, and the brightness of "You're Always the Sun" brings in a new texture. The sitar returns for "Sublime," and the album as a whole gives off a pleasantness. Enjoy at your leisure.
- I especially recommend "Strangelove Addiction," an exotic and intense track off this album. I first heard it off a promo comp I heard some 15+ yrs ago. Enjoy!
